143. Plutarch’s singing show was a huge success. In the bloody wake of the rebellion, every citzen of the reformed Panem needed something happy to tune into each night. Plutarch was one of the judges and, no matter what talent he heard, always claimed Katniss Everdeen’s voice as the winner every season even though she had never preformed. But during the live auditions for the 25th season, a young girl stood before the panel and Panem and began to sing. The judges fell silent. The people waiting their turn fell silent. Mockingjays fell silent. That girl was Katniss’s young daughter. Plutarch shook his head slowly, wiped away a tear and smiled once she had finished her song. He simply whispered, “Finally.”
